About Planet Queue

Planet Queue is an aggregation of practitioner-oriented blogs written by the Queue author community (close to 400 and growing).

There are two categories of blogs on Planet Queue.

First: Blogs on "unlocked" articles from the ACM Digital Library that are of specific interest to the Queue practitioner community. The ACM Digital Library is a full-text repository of papers from publications that have been published, co-published, or co-marketed by ACM and other publishers that are normally only available to Digital Library subscribers, who get unlimited access to full-text content, plus additional functionality such as Advanced Search and Personalized Services. By blogging on these articles, Queue authors make the specific article on which they have blogged freely available to all users of Planet Queue. Their blogs can be on any article, not just a Queue article, from the collection of over 54,000 full text articles in the ACM Digital Library. Featured Planet Queue posts on ACM Digital Library articles are collected in a special place on both the Planet Queue page and the Queue website's homepage (Inside Planet Queue), so as to attract special notice.

Second: In addition to blogs on Digital Library articles, Planet Queue also aggregates ALL Queue author blogs (on any topic) in the more general Blog Roll that appears on the Queue website's home page and also on the Planet Queue page. The ordering of the blogs is by the most recent post, and so the list is every changing and offers new reading with every visit.
